Cyclone Arnab May Hit Andhra Pradesh on October 28, Bringing Rain to Maharashtra
Cyclone Arnab is moving towards Andhra Pradesh and may bring heavy rain and strong winds on October 28. Maharashtra's eastern Vidarbha and Mumbai could see showers, while Jalgaon records 15°C, cooler than Mahabaleshwar.
Eastern Vidarbha is expected to experience the most significant impact of the cyclone in Maharashtra. Moderate rainfall is likely in Nagpur and neighbouring districts on October 29 and 30. Mumbai and other parts of the Konkan region may also receive light showers, according to weather analyst Agrey Shetty.
The cyclone is expected to bring light to heavy rainfall across Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and eastern Vidarbha. Winds along the coast are expected to reach speeds of 125 to 140 kmph, while waves measuring 1 to 1.5 metres in height are likely to develop.
Light Showers Likely in Mumbai on October 30 and 31
The effects of the cyclone are also expected to be felt in the Konkan region. At the same time, weather conditions over the Arabian Sea may undergo changes. These two weather developments are likely to increase moisture levels in the air, creating conditions favourable for rainfall.
As a result, Mumbai and its surrounding areas may receive light showers on October 30 and 31. The expected rainfall could bring a change in weather conditions across the region as the cyclone influences weather patterns over Maharashtra.
Jalgaon Records Lower Temperature Than Mahabaleshwar
Meanwhile, residents of Jalgaon, who have been experiencing the intense October heat for the past month, have finally begun to feel the onset of cooler weather. Temperatures have dropped significantly, with the city recording a seasonal low of 15 degrees Celsius.
Notably, Mahabaleshwar, known as a hill station in Maharashtra, recorded a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, two degrees higher than Jalgaon's reading. The temperature drop marks a shift in weather conditions in Jalgaon following weeks of October heat.
